How Mouthguards are Made

Professionally-fitted sports mouthguards offer optimal protection compared to over-the-counter designs. By taking an alginate mould of your mouth we can recreate the exact shape of your mouth and teeth. Next, we use a suck-down machine to create the contoured appliance so that it wraps closely around the curve of each tooth.
This design process allows for a custom fit that holds your mouthguard in place when it’s most important, like during hits or falls.

Sports Mouthguard FAQ

Why should I wear a mouthguard?

Wearing a professionally-made mouthguard lowers your risk of broken, chipped or knocked-out teeth during sports. There are also some studies that suggest custom mouthguards reduce the risk of concussions. In most cases, a mouthguard will significantly reduce the damage that occurs during a hit or fall.

How do I care for my mouthguard?

Be sure to keep your mouthguard in a closed container, away from hot temperatures, pets or small children. Clean your mouthguard after each use with lukewarm water and antimicrobial hand soap.

Who are sports mouthguards for?

A sports mouthguard is for anyone who is involved in recreational activities where oral or facial trauma may occur, such as football, cycling or gymnastics. Adults and children alike can benefit from wearing a mouthguard. However, children will need to have theirs updated routinely as their mouth continues to grow and develop.
