We look forward to welcoming you to Cheeky Grin Dental Port Stephens. After you’ve booked your initial appointment for a checkup and clean, we’ll send a confirmation the day before your visit to remind you of the time.
Your First Visit
When you arrive, you may park on the street or in one of the car parks across the road. When you enter our clinic, our friendly receptionist will greet you by name and make you feel welcome and comfortable. After completing our new patient paperwork, you’ll be taken into the exam room.
Your dentist will talk with you about any concerns you may have. We’ll do a thorough exam, including taking photos and any necessary X-rays. This exam assesses the health of your teeth and gums, the alignment of your teeth, and any oral pathology. Your dentist will continue to take photos before, during and after any treatments, so you can see the progress and improvement in your smile.
If there is anything that requires further treatment, we’ll let you know and offer you recommendations and treatment options. Then we’ll complete your cleaning.
For your initial checkup and clean, you’ll be with Dr Jo. or Dr Carr. Regular checkups and cleans are recommended every six months, and our dedicated oral health therapist will do your cleaning at those visits.
Emergency Dental
If your first visit with us is for an emergency, such as pain, a broken tooth or an infection, we will do a focused examination to determine the cause of the problem, including X-rays and photos as needed. We will explain the issue and recommend treatment options. Generally, we can complete treatment at the same visit.
Follow-Up Treatments
If you have any issue that requires additional treatment, Dr Jo will discuss the options with you and answer all your questions. We’ll then schedule you for whatever treatment you decide on.
